Yesterday's festival was a great event, and I hope everyone
enjoyed it. After less than a month of training, it was incredibly satisfying
to observe our little swimmers swimming well in the water.
In addition, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to
all the parents who volunteered to officiate the races. I very much appreciate
it. In addition, many thanks to Mr. Denni and our Grade 12 student coach,
Cigdem.

-17 swimmers were the first to arrive.

It was heartbreaking to watch some of our swimmers in tears
after losing, but this is how they learn that swimming is not about winning or
losing. I usually remind my swimmers that life is not black and white, but
rather a range of colors. I always tell them that being a member of the Jaguar
Squad is a massive accomplishment for which they should be proud. Not everyone
was able to pass the tryout, thus being able to compete after one month of
training is a significant accomplishment. I have had the opportunity to speak
with a few swimmers who were unhappy, and I have explained to them that they
have improved their timing and techniques and have done an outstanding job.
Please continue to encourage your child to attend training and compete; the
excitement of the swim journey is gained from learning new skills, not from
finishing first or last.
